Fashion tip of the day: Pants

Hello all this is your CMO and Marketing Advisor back again with the fashion tip of the day.

Fellas it seems that many of us just don't really understand our bodies. And like women most of us just buy what size of pants we think we are. Well here is a little surprise about that....all pants are not made the same way. lets take me for example. My body type is considered a slim athletic build (that means i have muscle tone or very cut with very litte body fat). However that does not mean that everything will look right on me. MEN YOU MUST KNOW YOUR WAIST SIZE AND DON'T BE AFRAID TO TRY ON YOUR CLOTHES BEFORE YOU BUY THEM. This information is provided to you from the mens details style manual, a must have for all men.

PANTS BASICS:

The Waist:

A question: Where is your waist? If you're stumped, chances are you don't really know your waist size either. That means that your pants don't fit. to remedy this, place a tape measure around your midsection just above your hipbone. Commit this number to memory because that is your actual waist size.

The Rise:

The rise is the length of the fly, or the section from the crotch to your waistband. A long rise gives you a high waist. A short rise puts you in hip huggers. A really short rise makes you look like a member of Fall Out Boy. Lol its a music group, google them and find out what I mean.

The Inseam:

Running veritcally from the crotch to the cuff, the inseam gives you the length of your leg. It's the second number in your jeans formula (i.e. 32,34). Unless you have long arms and phenomenal flexibility, you might need someone else to measure this for you.

The Belt Loops:

Not all pants have belt loops, but if they do make use of them. They're not there for decoration.

The Pockets:

Cell phone, keys, ipod....the modern man has plenty to lug around with him. That is no excuse for overloading your pockets and ruining the contour of your pants. There are a wide variety of side pockets: on the seam, diagonal jets, slanted, depending on the formality of the pant. At the back you can choose buttoned or open pockets, one (on the right side) or two. Whatever you decide lose the bulging wallet.

The Cuffs:

After having a moment in the eighties, cuffs are more the exception than the rule, except for those jean connoisseurs who like to show off their shuttle-loom-spun japanese denim. With trousers, if you do choose cuffs, be sure the tailor makes them in proportion to your body size. Too big and you'll look like an extra from the Untouchables.

The Fabric:

More than any other item of clothing, your trousers take a pounding. From your morning commute to hours sitting on a bar stool listening to your coworker, your pants' arduous routine requires that they be durable. They also have to be appropriate for the season. If you're playing golf at lunchtime in August you might want to leave your tweed pair at home lol.

These are the basics for having the right pair of pants to make you look good. And fellas wearing jeans and pulling them down under your butt is unacceptable, tacky and tastless. You wonder why you are never taken seriously when you are dressed like that, that's why. You need to understand that trend was started in prison by men who were down with having sex with other men, and most of you are so homophobic it's rediculous. You will be so quick to talk about a gay man in a minute but you are sporting a trend that was started by "gay" men in prison. Think about that for a minute. And to add fuel to the fire, all those high end clothes that you love to wear, like gucci and louis vuitton those close are all designed by gay men. And here it is that you run to the store and buy it in a heartbeat and have no real clue who is designing and determining what is hot and what is not. Food for thought. I suggest that those guys out there who are looking to change there style to be more appealing to women and to show some growth pay attention to them. They hang around the prettiest and sexiest women and these women love the way they look in their clothes. I'm not saying that you need to make a friend or anything like that, just that we as men need to pay attention to our surroundings. A woman wants a man that can dress himself up and do it well.

Very few woman are comfortable with a guy that stays in jeans and a tshirt all the time. As for me I've always been a preppy guy at heart so I love wearing suits, ties and the like. To me a man dressed like this gets so much more respect from the general public.
